"The Mummy" is likely to have you yelling for yours, particularly if you watch it at Imax, whose sound systems makes the effects quite convincing.
Don't expect the engaging story-line and wry humour of the earlier series - this is dark and pretty macabre stuff, with some interesting special effects. Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll act, however, left me completely bewildered; but then, I think I made the mistake of trying to understand what was happening.
If you're a fan of Tom Cruise (who really should stick to the MI franchise), or of Sofia "Kingsman" Boutella (who makes a lissom if exceptionally blanched mummy, although she doesn't have too much to do), you might like to see this movie. If not, I recommend you stay away.
